FAQ

Find answers about online urgent care, medical weight loss, scheduling, prescriptions, privacy, and cash-pay telemedicine services.

What states do you practice in, and do I need to be located in a specific state to be seen?

Write My Prescription provides telemedicine services to eligible patients who are physically located in one of our licensed states at the time of the visit.

Urgent Care & Weight Loss: AZ, IA, KS, NY, NV
Urgent Care Only: CA

You do not need to be a permanent resident of a covered state. However, you must be physically located in an approved state during your appointment.

Scheduling is completed online through the patient portal. For urgent care visits, same-day or next-day availability may be offered when possible. Weight loss consultations are typically scheduled within 24 to 48 hours of your request.

After booking, you will receive confirmation details with instructions for your visit.

Write My Prescription currently operates as a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly.

This model allows us to keep pricing transparent, reduce surprise billing, and focus more time on patient care instead of insurance administration. Many patients find that cash-pay visit fees are comparable to or less than standard insurance copays.

We treat many common non-emergency health concerns, including sinus infections, urinary tract infections, upper respiratory infections, sore throat, pink eye, allergies, rashes, nausea, cold or flu symptoms, cough, and non-controlled medication refills for stable conditions.

We do not treat medical emergencies. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, severe allergic reaction, or any life-threatening condition, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

The medical weight loss program begins with a comprehensive online consultation. Your provider will review your health history, current weight, medical conditions, medications, and weight loss goals.

If you are a candidate, your provider may create a personalized treatment plan that can include lifestyle guidance, nutritional support, ongoing monitoring, and medication options when clinically appropriate.

You may be a candidate if you have a BMI of 27 or higher, have struggled to lose weight with diet and exercise alone, and want clinician-guided support.

Final eligibility depends on your medical history, current medications, risk factors, and provider evaluation during your consultation.

When clinically appropriate, your provider may discuss medication options such as semaglutide or tirzepatide as part of a personalized weight loss plan.

Medication is not right for everyone. Your provider will review potential benefits, risks, side effects, contraindications, and available options before making any recommendation.

Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice when medically appropriate.

For urgent care concerns, your provider will review your symptoms, health history, allergies, and current medications before deciding whether a prescription is needed. For weight loss medications, pharmacy options may vary by state and medication availability.

No. Medication costs are separate from the consultation or visit fee.

Your provider will review available medication and pharmacy options during your consultation so you understand potential costs before moving forward.

You will need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone for video visits, along with a stable internet connection. For phone-only visits, a working phone number is needed.

Before your appointment, please have your current medication list, relevant medical history, allergies, and preferred pharmacy information ready.

Most telemedicine visits typically last 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your symptoms, medical history, and reason for the visit.

Some weight loss consultations or more detailed visits may take longer if additional discussion is needed.

Yes. Your privacy is very important. Visits, records, and communications are handled through secure, privacy-conscious telemedicine systems designed to protect your personal health information.

Your information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

We ask that appointments be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a partial fee. If a visit cannot be completed due to a technical issue on our end, you may receive a full refund or complimentary reschedule. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Write My Prescription is built around personalized care, continuity, and clinical excellence. Instead of feeling like just another patient on a large platform, you receive care from an experienced provider who takes time to understand your symptoms, goals, and health history.

Our care model focuses on convenience, transparent pricing, secure access, and a trusted provider-patient relationship.
